Wedding Flowers at Spitalfield Church

Alchemy Wedding Themed Outfits

When Sam messaged me on Instagram regarding the flowers for his upcoming themed wedding at Spitalfields Church, I was so excited to be a part of their big day. The brief sounded super creative!
Sam and I used to work together at Allsaints head office in Shoreditch back in our twenties. Even back then, I had always thought Sam had the most amazing sense of style.

When we met at The Ham Yard Hotel to discuss their wedding flowers both Sam and In Hye mentioned that their wedding would be based on the theme of Alchemy. To break with tradition Sam wore a white suit based on the cut and fit of his father’s wedding suit which was worn in the seventies. Innes wore a red suit with a bold sleeve and train detail, so we decided red and purple were to be key colours for the flowers.

The bridal and bridesmaid bouquets featured Calla Lillies, Astilbe, Daucus, Scabious, Eucalyptus Populusand Clematis and finished with a burgundy ribbon. The table centrepieces were wild, ethereal and unstructured. They featured Amaranthus, soft Ruscus, Daucus, Ammi, calla Lillies, Cotinus, and Thlaspi. Due to the tall nature of the ceiling at Spitalfields church, we decided on tall centrepieces placed on gold metallic stands.

Rock n Roll Bride magazine is one of my favourite publications and I was lucky enough to have the flowers featured.
